MESSAGE FROM COCO
A NEW BEGINNING
In John 1:1 we read "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He has existed from the dawn of time." The question I ask today is this...is He your Savior or is He your Lord? There is a difference.
Many believers are just that...believers but not receivers. Ask yourself, is He my savior or is He my Lord? This is an evaluation only you can make. How do you know if you have made Him 'Lord'?
Man can teach and tell you about Christ but only the Spirit of God can reveal it to your heart. Christ has to be placed there and until that takes place you only have head knowledge. You must be willing to surrender all. Not just part, but all!
Surrender doesn't come easy for any of us. We are flesh and the flesh desires what it wills and it desires it now! You must live and love as Christ did. You must strive towards being Christ'like'. How? By reading our instruction manual, the Bible. Your Bible will strengthen you, encourage you, convict you, etc. Unfortunately, so many people today have more of a relationship with their Bible than with their Jesus.
We make sure we spend our alotted time with the bible or our devotionals. We deceive ourselves thinking we have given Jesus priority when the actual truth is we read a passage of scripture, perhaps say a short prayer, and we're done. Truth be known, too many believers cannot even say they recognize the Shepherd's voice when He speaks.
In order to know Him you must spend time with Him. ( Psalm 46:10) Relationship is a two way street and you are as close to Him as you want to be. The scripture tells us that if we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us.
So this let it be a time of drawing near, a new beginning to a fresh new walk with Jesus Christ, our Savior and our Lord.
In His Service and love to you,
Coco Mullins
